The Euro-Med Monitor issued a working paper in May 2014 calling for the opening of the Gaza seaport, underlining the possibility of opening a maritime route from Gaza to the outside world in a short term period. Amidst the chronic crisis, the most effective long-term solution should not be ignored: re-open Gaza's seaport routes to the outside world. This would provide Palestinians in Gaza with a secure and dignified passageway and free them from dependence on the usually absent goodwill of Israel and Egypt. This working paper looks at the background to Gaza's sea links and answers the questions the feasibility of Gaza Seaport.
